Abbeydale Picturehouse Sheffield Weddings

I used to live on the next street up from the Abbeydale Picturehouse, so know the area well, and when I see the amazing white exterior I always get a rush of memories flooding back.

Located on Abbeydale Road, the Grade II listed Picture House was opened in 1920 as a theatre and cinema. A really cool space retaining a lot of its original character in a shabby chic way.

I love the sign in the window they change to the couples’ names as if it’s their movie playing at the cinema.

The huge area behind the screen is an incredible space too. You have to see it to believe it – known as the Fly Tower, it’s a 4 storey area perfect for wedding receptions.

They have a cafe, reception room and of course the Auditorium. The foyer has beautiful natural light and crazy as it seems, this area and the stairs leading to the next floor up are my favourite areas. I’ve done a couple of styled photoshoots at the Picturehouse and always used these spaces.

And just in case you’re wondering, yes they will put your own movie on the screen! 😀
