You’ve probably noticed by now that I love horses, and being creative. Last month I got the chance to combine the two along with my love of making things on a sculpture course in Nottingham.
Run by Gillian Higgins of Horses Inside Out and renowned artist and sculptor Judy Boyt from Gillian’s base in Nottingham, we studied the biomechanics of the horse, study some live models and get our hands on making our own sculptures. The weather was kind so we spent a lovely couple of afternoons outside in the yard quietly making and sculpting. I chose to work with wax as it was something I hadn’t used before. When it gets cold it sets rock hard, so we had the fan heater blowing on the blocks ready to use.
I had a thoroughly relaxing couple of days and I’m sure it won’t be my last sculpture!
