You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting for David and Elspeth’s wedding than St.Barnabas Church in Bradwell.
A warm, sunny July day it was all hands on deck inside the church to get those finishing touches ready for Elspeth’s arrival.
I remember the incredible feeling of warmth, closeness and love between everyone, and I knew today was going to be a wonderful celebration of friendships, families and the love between them.
There were tears shed for loved ones lost, but it felt like they were with us in spirit, sharing the joy.
After a wonderful ceremony, Elspeth gathered little Jess in her arms before kissing her husband before the family made their way down the aisle, faces beaming with happiness.
Elspeth and David decided to go for a short walk around the village for some relaxed photos, before getting into the waiting MG Midget and driving over to the reception at Calver Village Hall
After some emotional, truly heart-felt speeches it was time for everyone to tuck into the mountains of wonderful food and catch up with each other. What really struck me was how everyone helped with the clearing away and tidying up – without even being asked – everyone really had a part to play – and everyone was as important as each other.
A couple of moments that really stood out for me was the intimacy only a mother and child can show between Elspeth and Jess when we went for a quiet moment as she’d requested a shot of them together, and the other was the smile on Jess’s face when David pulled her tighter into him – I don’t know if he saw her reaction but I’m glad I caught it for him. Pure happiness.
