A beautiful intimate family wedding ceremony at Fischer’s Baslow Hall followed by their reception full of friends at the Wig and Pen in Sheffield for Caroline and Bob.
After a VERY long engagement, Caroline and Bob finally tied the knot surrounded by family in a lovely, intimate setting at Fischer’s Baslow Hall in Derbyshire. Despite having been wet all week long the day dawned dry and stayed that way – thankfully as the gardens are beautiful and it would have been a real shame had it been wet.
After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, Caroline had decided on a beautifully elegant gown from Emily Bridalwear. It was her second dress she’d bought but as we said in our first meeting, you don’t want to have any regrets about the dress!
The beautiful flowers were provided by Plantology, they had lots of texture and flowers, just gorgeous and perfect for the Hall.
Caroline’s friend Jane, who she’d known since school gave a lovely reading during the ceremony and struggled to hold it together – we were all so touched by her words and obvious love for her friend.
The registrar performing the ceremony was the chattiest registrar I’ve ever met! He obviously loved his job which was great to see, and had lots to tell people about the traditions involved in wedding ceremonies.
Their friend Steve was an absolute star and had agreed to video their day for them, not only that but he was chauffeur for the happy couple – he’d even gone out and bought himself an appropriate chauffeur hat and gloves!
After the photos I headed over to the Wig and Pen, where they were busy getting ready for the evening reception. I’ve passed it plenty of times before but had never been in – it’s like a tardis! From the front it looks pretty small, but it goes quite a way back and is really rather large inside! They’d been busy putting up fairy lights which looked fab – although I believe they must have taken some doing as Bob had got the outdoor variety which are much heavier! haha!
The guys at the restaurant worked their butts off – they didn’t stand still all evening and couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone was having a good time. A lovely place and I’ll be going back to sample their pizza, which smelt delicious!
Bob and Caroline popped outside into the square behind the restaurant for a few more photos before heading back inside to welcome everyone.
I had an absolute blast photographing their day – they’re obviously made for each other, and now they are finally married it’s even better!
