Bathing in the Autumn colours, Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield was looking beautiful, and the squirrels were running around as they usually do there.
Today was Lauren and Neil’s big day, and I was thankful that the BBC got the weather forecast wrong and I could leave the brollies in the car and we’d be able to go outside and make the most of the beautiful surroundings.
Inside there were beautiful personal touches, and I was immediately drawn to a photoframe on a windowsill. Lauren’s Nanna was very much part of the day, and was even on a brooch sewn into Lauren’s dress, just over her heart so she could be with her. A wonderful idea and so touching.
Lauren and her mum were getting ready in one of the rooms, it was lovely and peaceful, just like the surroundings. I had a feeling I’d met Lauren’s parents before and we couldn’t place each other at first, but then realised we used to go to the same gym! It’s a truly small world!!!
Two of my favourite photos of the day were of her parents – the love in their eyes just makes my heart melt, every time I look at them I can feel myself welling up! Soppy old fart aren’t I!?
In the meantime Neil was catching up with his lifelong friends – a rare thing to have these days and a testament to their friendship.
Walking down the aisle, their little girl Emelia ran to Lauren which was so sweet, I love moments like that!
