Valentines Day may not be until tomorrow but it wasn’t stopping the love at Langsett
I thought I’d have a wander around Langsett reservoir this afternoon, just with the aim of getting out with the camera and shooting some beautiful nature, but I got more than I bargained for!
Hanging from the bridge was bunting spelling out “Will you marry me?” Well my soppy old romantic heart did a jump for joy inside my chest. I love Langsett so much and it seems I’m not the only one. The freshly engaged couple were enjoying a glass of champagne down by the river – how she made it down there I’ve no idea as it was incredibly boggy, and I have the mud-caked walking boots to prove it. Unfortunately they already had a photographer with them so it wouldn’t have been right for me to step on anyone’s toes, but I couldn’t resist one of them walking away with the chap holding her shoes.
I decided to go and sit on a bench overlooking the river and was joined by someone’s dog who also enjoyed the view. Not long after I left the bench, an older couple sat down there and got close. I wonder what their story was.
It was all very romantic. Sigh. It’s making me want to go back tomorrow to see if I can spot any more engagements unfolding, I’m so soppy aren’t I!? I guess I’ll just have to be patient and wait for Molly and Samuel’s engagement shoot at Langsett in March.
Whatever you’re doing, I hope you have a lovely Valentines Day.
