Sarah and Jimmy’s wedding day started at The Riverside House Hotel near Bakewell, before heading to Banktop Farm in Hartington for their reception.
Arriving early (as always!) I had a mooch around the hotel and its grounds before going for a little wander outside. Next to the hotel is a beautiful old bridge, and stopping to peer over I saw a fluffy little gathering of ducklings all nestling together on the bank of the river, while the adults preened and cleaned themselves in the sparkling clear waters. What a wonderfully peaceful way to start the day, and as I knew Sarah was a fellow nature lover she’d be delighted!
I headed back to the hotel and waited for Jimmy to arrive before capturing him greeting his guests. While they were all ushered in to the hotel I headed out to catch Sarah arriving with her bridesmaids and her Dad. They all looked stunning and perfect for such a warm Summer wedding.
The ceremony room at the hotel was something of a squeeze, even the registrars had to breathe in haha! There were tears and cuddles, laughter and smiles all round, before heading outside to relax and enjoy some food in the grounds.
The bees too also enjoyed themselves, and found the bouquets of gorgeous flowers most appetising, much to everyone’s delight (well, nearly everyone! haha!) After taking time out for some photos down by the river we all made our way to Banktop Farm. On the drive over a few of us were held up while the cows were being moo-ved (sorry.)
I couldn’t quite believe how many people were at the farm to congratulate the bride and groom with armfuls of confetti and hugs a plenty! Meanwhile the marquee was having its finishing touches and looked beautiful.
Of course we couldn’t have missed a chance to say hello to the cows in the barn, so out came the sparkly wellies!
