So it may not be everyone’s idea of a relaxing break, but ever since I was a kid I’ve dreamed of galloping on a beach, and 30 plus years later I got to do it! Was it worth the wait? Absolutely!
Set in beautiful national park surroundings in Spain, just 20 minutes outside of Gibraltar and run by Endurance Equestrian, my guide Ferdy took us through beautiful cork woodlands with sandy paths perfect for cantering. The wildlife was fantastic and the views spectacular. We were even followed by two beautiful wild Andalusian horses who appeared out of the woods like mystical unicorns. I got to ride some fantastic horses – an Arab, an Andalusian and a Spanish Sports Horse, all were fit, healthy and keen!
Organised by Unicorn Trails who I can’t say enough good things about I was treated like royalty for a few days. Was I sore after spending so long in the saddle? You bet I was – but quite frankly the large tub of sudocrem and cans of deep heat were worth it!
