We’re spoilt for choice for wedding venues Sheffield
I think that THE biggest decision when planning a wedding is the venue. Some people know exactly where they want, others need a little inspiration, so I thought I’d put a post together to help out a little.
The wedding ceremony and reception
The easiest option is to hold the ceremony and reception in the same location – the logistics for your guests are so much easier and you don’t have to worry about transport between venues. However to do this you really need somewhere with a license which limits your choice of venues.
If one of the hundreds of beautiful churches aren’t really your thing then there are halls, manor houses, hotels, gardens and tourist attractions to take your pick from! Here are just a few…
A fabulously different venue on the historic waterway on Kelham Island. Brilliant food for parties of upto 85 people. From January 2019 The Chimney House is licensed for Marriages and Civil Partnerships for up to 50 guests.
Great for intimate ceremonies and celebrations of between 10 and 100 guests. Also has 38 en-suite bedrooms. Lovely outdoor space, and caring staff. A nice blend of period architecture and modern interiors.
The Registry Office is available weekdays and Saturdays and holds up to 8 guests. They have 2 other rooms which hold upto 45 guests downstairs for ceremonies and larger rooms for ceremonies and receptions upstairs. The entrance is particularly grand and the building itself is huge! Outside are the wonderful Peace Gardens for more fantastic photos.
A creative community located just off Queens Road, Hagglers Corner can be hired out for your wedding reception. A really chilled outside space as well as indoor space for you to transform to your liking. Perfect for DIY weddings too.
Has a choice of six rooms which are licensed as venues for wedding and civil partnership ceremonies. The Lagonda Suite can hold up to 300 people and they also have a marquee which can accommodate up to 120 guests. Set in 55 acres of land.
Small personal celebrations all the way upto 200 guests. A strange but endearing blend of 1865 old charm and 1960’s architecture. A strange combination but creates loads of different photo opportunities!
Part of Sheffield University, for wedding breakfasts or informal evening receptions. The venue can host a wedding breakfast for up to 100 guests in the High Tor hall or evening receptions for up to 200 guests in the bar area.
